Winter Weather, What to wear???

Let's get dressed for winter.

This week we continued talking about winter. With the focus on what to wear and why. Although the activities are fun and keep us busy. There is much more going on. Vocabulary was a main focus. Matching winter clothing to our body parts. We talked about the importance of keeping our bodies warm from the cold air and why we should do that. We talked about how looking out the window and seeing the bright sun shining doesn't mean it is warm outside. And a dark cloudy day doesn't mean it's cold.

We had fun finding the clothes to wear and dressing ourselves for winter.

Ready for winter.

Let's see what our hands look like inside of our mittens.

Dot painting mittens.

Mitten fun!

Winter science

After playing with snow and watching a video about how water turns to ice. We had some fun painting, melting, and playing with ice.

Yonana banana

We couldn't believe you could turn frozen bananas into ice cream treats!

Show and Tell

Show and tell isn't just about giving the kids a reason to bring toys to class. Each child's social, emotional and language skills will grow and develop from this activity as the children learn to use descriptive language, practice listening skills and share their special items with others.

Day one was more about showing than telling. Give us a couple weeks and it will be the opposite.

Snow much fun!!!!

We're loving this theme! Can you build a snowman? Pre-K can.

Go to the Pre-K facebook page for a fun snowman song!
