We're Back. Winter Fun.

As I was coming into school Tuesday morning. I thought to myself. Wow it was a long time since we were in the classroom. I was preparing myself for hard transitions and lots of tears. And to my surprise I only saw smiles and sounds of happiness. My heart was filled with joy. Everyone was so excited to get back to their jobs, playing with friends and finding all their favorite activities. Enjoy this week of winter fun.

Getting ready for winter fun!

It might take a little longer and a little more patiences for the kids to get ready by themselves. But learning to get dressed builds your child’s confidence and independence and gives your child a sense of achievement. And once your child can dress himself, helping him get dressed is one less thing for you to do.

Snow Fun

Before we went outside. We talked about what snow is and where it comes from.

All the kids heard was. There's snow outside. I'm sure they were thinking. We're dressed. Let's play!!!!!!!!!

What the kids learned about snow.

Snow forms when tiny ice crystals in clouds stick together to become snowflakes. If enough crystals stick together, they'll become heavy enough to fall to the ground. ... Snow is formed when temperatures are low and there is moisture in the atmosphere in the form of tiny ice crystals.

Snow fun.

What the kids learned about ice.

The change that is going to take place is that the water that was once a wet liquid has now transformed into a hard solid form. The solid form of water is called ice. Ice is created when water gets below 32 degrees Fahrenheit and it freezes. The freezer is not the only place where you can find ice. What they really learned is. Ice is really really cold.

We watched a short video about ice forms.

We found this icicle while we were outside.

Exploring the icicle with all of our senses. We all agreed. It was very cold.

Creating an icicle picture with glitter

Icicle art

Salt dough snowmen.

The kids made their own salt dough. To create fun creative snowman.

Basic cooking ingredients can be used to make the dough while bolstering math learning, creative thinking, and sensory and fine-motor development. We will let the snowmen dry and finish them next week.

Art class with Mr. Matt.

The kids took a look at the artwork of Keith Haring. Keith Haring used bright colors and bold lines to show movement and create beautiful works of art. the kids created their own collages inspired by Keith Haring using bright colors and bold lines.
