Way up high in the apple tree...........

This week we have started our themed unit about the season of fall. I love bringing nature into the classroom. Nature provides countless opportunities for discovery, creativity and problem solving.


As you look through the blog. You will see our main focus was apples, apples and apples. We all had so much fun and learned so much. Enjoy.


Exploring nature.





In class apple picking. The children each had to pick a specific number of apples off the tree. Then place them in the matching color basket. We had fun seeing which basket had the most.

Spray painting apples. A great outdoor activity. as you can see Mr. Bailey turned into an apple tree.

Let's first check out and compare all the apples.


Next let's sort them by color and size.


Time to cut them up. First hand washing and then cut, cut, cut.


They are ready to cook and blend.


Hurray! We can eat it now. 5 of 6 said thumbs up.

Roycemore day. The Pre-k friends colored pictures of a Griffin for middle school students. And in return the middle school students colored pictures for the Pre-k students.


We love Show and Tell. Everyone has so much to say. We need to add a little extra time.

Next week we will be spending a good amount of time outdoors. Going on fall hunts. Looking for nature. Creating leaf collages. please make sure your child is dressed for cooler weather.
