Time For Jobs. Working Together.

Hi everyone,

This was a short but very busy week. It's hard to believe this is only the end of the third week of school. I love how well everyone in class gets along with each other. And truly care about each others feelings.

It's time for Pre-K to get working.

Preschool classroom jobs help children to become actively involved and responsible for their classroom and the needs of their peers. Most preschoolers love being helpers and take their helper job seriously! Having responsibilities within the classroom also give them a sense of accomplishment, independence and community!

This week in class we introduced the classroom jobs. Each week the children will check the job board to see their responsibilities. This job will change weekly so everyone will have a turn at all the jobs. The children are quite excited about this and have already taken their job very seriously.

Mrs. Dinelli is explaining all about the jobs and what they entail. Everyone was quite interested.

This weeks jobs.

Maya loves holding the door.

Ela and Bunny are excited to be the line leaders.

Trip is the room inspector. He will put away any toys missed during clean up.

Gabe is doing a great job watering the plants.

Shanaya is counting how many friends are at school.

Teryn is helping with the calendar.

Lambert is cleaning the table.

Teo is turning on and off the lights when we leave and enter the room.

Jane is cleaning the tables and is very serious about this.

Elvin is keeping track of the weather this week.

Frances is helping hold the doors open. We go through many doors throughout the day.

Can you find your friend?

As the children are starting to recognize each others faces and name in print. We played a game where the children picked a card with their friends name on it. They then found their friend on the board and gave the picture a tap with a fly swatter. So fun!!!!!

Playdough

We made our own playdough this week. everyone loved the feeling of the soft warm dough. There are many benefits of children playing with playdough including developing fine motor skills, creativity, vocabulary, literacy and numeracy and much more. Playdough also: Motivates children to explore its sensory qualities. Strengthens small fingers, hands and wrists.

Children are also learning hand-eye coordination as they use their hands to shape play dough. Each different way children shape playdough—pushing, pulling, squashing, squeezing, rolling, chopping, cutting—builds fine motor development skills in a different way.

FREE CHOICE

During free choice, the kids get to engage in various activities that include magna-tiles, coloring, blocks, legos, cars and ramps, puzzles, sensory table, etc. Free choice is a great chance for the kids to have a choice in their learning and it's a perfect opportunity for the kids to make their own decisions. It might seem pretty basic to us, as adults, but it's incredibly important to the kids. It gives them more ownership over their learning experiences.

Specials

French Class with Madame.

This week Madame introduced colors. The children will be learning a different color every week and creating a book to take home in the end.

PE class with Coach B and Coach Long.

It's always a fun way to exercise and move our bodies while learning new games. This day we had to get the balls in the hoops using only our feet.

Library with Ms. Hilda

Music class with Ms. Redmann

We had a great time listening to the music and dancing with scarfs.

Outdoor Time.

Bug fun!!

By embracing the natural curiosity about bugs, we teach kids to work with nature rather than against it. We model “observing” before “interacting.” They learn that even the tiniest creature can help make a difference in the natural world.

Bubble play
