Pete the Cat (Author Study) Week 2

Pete the Cat week two was purrrrrrfect. We couldnt get enough of Pete and his friends. We loved reading the books. We started recognizing similar characters between stories and we started to recognize the different personalities. Everyone had their favorites and we're reading them every chance they had. I knew they were a big hit when they wanted to take them out to recess. We started referring our white board as the book wall. To continue this love of books. Next week we will add a new series of books to the "book wall".

The children finished their own Pete the cat story. To hear it. Go to the Pre-k Face book page.

Pete the Cat and the Magic Sunglasses

We learned a lot about feelings from this book. Pete thought he needed magic sunglasses to feel good. But he didn't. What a surprise.

We made our own magic sunglasses. Looking pretty cool.

Pete the Cat and the perfect pizza party.

We had a lot of giggles about what Pete and his friends chose to put on their pizza.

Making our own pizza. Start with the dough.

Next comes the sauce.

Add the cheese.

Time to eat.

We made our own Pete the cat pizza.

Pete the cat and the missing cupcakes.

We enjoyed a video story of Pete the cat and the missing cupcakes.

We had cupcakes in the classroom. When we went out they disappeared. We went on a hunt to look for them. It turns out that sneaky Pete the cat took them. Ask your children about this adventure.

Lucky for us. We found them. And enjoyed them with Pete the cat.

Show and Tell

The children were definitely ready to share. I love the interaction of questions about what everyone brought.

Magnatiles.

We loved building.

Classroom Art.

So much fun.

Crazy November Weather. From water balloons to air balloons.

This was a very busy week. We were sad to say goodbye to Pete for now. Next week we will go full turkey. It's hard to believe Thanksgiving is around the corner.
