Happy Holidays To All

This week we counted down the days until winter break. Each day we had a special snack. Which included Lucky charms, popsicles, baking brownies, gingerbread friend waffles with M&M candies and our party treat of ice cream with sprinkles and decorated graham crackers. ( don't be fooled by which holiday we were celebrating by the pumpkin plates LOL.)

As I'm sure you have seen by now. We filled a count down bag with fun surprises. I hope everyone has a wonderful winter break.

Family gifts

During class we talked about the importance of giving and not only receiving. A concept they were all excited to participate in. I hope everyone loved their family gift.

Sorry Teryn is not pictured. she took it away before I took the picture. And I forgot to get it back. :)

A couple highlights of the week. Who would think it would be popsicle sticks??? While enjoying our popsicles we discovered riddles on the sticks. We had so much laughing and giggling at them. Even though they mostly didn't get them. That was actually the fun of it.

Reading riddles with your children is a great way to develop language skills.

Here our a few of the favorites.

What falls down but doesn't get up? Rain

Why was the car always sleepy? He was tired

What has 3 horns and goes moo? A cow driving a car

Snowball Fight!!!!!

Fun was had by all. Thanks to Ela and family. This will continue to be a treasured addition to our indoor winter fun. If you haven't see the video on Facebook take a look.

Wassail

One of Roycesmore's oldest tradition is Wassail. Pre-Covid, this would involve older students going to the classroom of their younger Griffin Buddy and bringing them to an all-school gathering. They’d sing holiday songs from around the world and from various faiths and traditions. This Friday, we celebrated Wassail, but it was modified to respect the health and safety of our students. Rather than a whole school gathering, students gathered by division and sang holiday songs from around the world.

Following this gathering the Pre-K reindeers continued their love of singing Jingle bells and caroled around the school.

This was an incredible week filled with fun and excitement everyday. Thank you for allowing me to have these special times with your children.

Happy Holidays to all and to all a Good Night!
