Halloween Fun

Hello everyone,

As your child has probably told you. Mr. Bailey has been out most of the week. With his permission to share. I wanted you to know. He has been out due to a minor surgery. He is taking sometime to recover and hopes to be back on Monday. During the week the class sent him well wishes in videos and he returned the love in the same manor. We're all looking forward to his return.

As we started our week of Halloween fun. We were all super excited to see the sun come out. Bubbles and hoops started us off for a fun and spooktacular week.

We read the story and watch a short video about a square pumpkin named Spookley. The story taught us the importance of being kind and helpful.

We created our own Spookly. We covered him in puffy paint which we created ourselves.

We voted on what Spookly's face should look like.

The sad face was the winner. But we quickly discovered. If you turn that frown upside down you will get a smile.

With Halloween quickly approaching. It was time to create some slime. We took turns measuring and stirring.

Some friends were talking about their visits to the pumpkin patch. we decided to create our own. I never saw a better looking group of pumpkins.

Science time in Pre-k.

What happens if you melt the crayons on the pumpkin? Wow! beautiful. To see live action melting. Visit the Pre-k facebook page.

Science didn't end with crayon melting. We decided to make what is called elephant toothpaste. What happens if you mix hydrogen peroxide, dish soap, food coloring and yeast together. You get a huge foamy substance oozing out of a pumpkin.

We watch a science video before we went outside. This was the end effect of the pumpkin on the video.

This was the end effect on the one we did. Not quite as foamy. But still fun and interesting. watch our pumpkin ooze live on the facebook page. We said our pumpkin didn't feel very well.

Pumpkin decorating time. Googly eyes, feathers, pompoms and more. You have the most creative children. No tricks here. Only treats.

Can you guess which one your child made?

Showing off our pumpkins.

Time to mix up a witches brew.

Movement class with Miss Aimee. We are moving all over the place.

French class with Madame. We played a Halloween matching game. Learning names of Halloween creatures. Ask your child if they had fun. You will definitely get a oui.

Halloween day finally here. Whether you were a pony, a dragon, Scooby do, a wolf, an astronaut, a flying squirrel or just yourself. Fun was going to be had by all.

We were waiting all week to make these pumpkin muffins. Yes just two ingredients.

Scooping, mixing, beating and time for the oven. We loved the beaters the best.

We really love the eating the most!!!

Time to become a mummy. Go to the facebook page for the real fun.

Upper school went remote when Roycemore went into phase orange. They delivered these secret message science activities for us to do.

Thank you. Upper school.

So many Halloween activities happening during the week. Laced spiderwebs, haunted houses and creepy spiders. Our fine motor skills were getting quite a workout

Time to get the large motor skills going. We all know the Pre-k friends love to dance. We ended the Halloween festivities with a glow in the dark dance party. Of course the real action will be on the facebook page.

Happy Halloween everyone.
