Friendship (Part 2)

This week we continued talking about kindness and how to be a good friend.

Kindness Postcards

The kindness postcards allowed the kids to use their artistic talents as well as show random acts of kindness to those in our Roycemore community.

Kindness Rocks

The Kindness Rocks movement is a fun random act of kindness project. I believe it is important to make sure that kids are instilled with the value that can found in bringing joy to others. Kindness Rocks are small rocks that are painted with fun, inspirational pictures or messages and placed in public areas for others to find. To begin this project the kiddos went on a rock hunt and searched for smooth rocks. We then brought the rocks inside and scrubbed them with soap and water. After the rocks dried we painted them with acrylic paint and once they dried again the teachers wrote positive messages on them that the class came up with together.

Reading Buddies

It is amazing to see how the Pre-K kiddos respond when they see their reading buddies each week! The children, both young and old(er) genuinely like each others company.

Patterns

This week we practiced extending and creating patterns. Patterns help children learn to make predictions, to understand what comes next, to make logical connections, and to use reasoning skills.

Free Choice

This week the kiddos experienced straw painting, independent reading, dramatic play, magna-tiles, cars, dinosaurs, water-play, and much more!

Next week we will begin our Weather Unit.
