Fall (Part 2)

Reading Buddies - Disguise Tom the Turkey

Tom the Turkey needs to go undercover! Pre-K and their Middle School Reading Buddies were given a very important task. They were asked to disguise Tom the Turkey so he can make it safely past Thanksgiving. The kids disguised their turkey as a: shark, snake, anglerfish, princess, Hermione, and corn!

Turkey Process Art & Craft

We began the week painting with fall items including: corn, leaves, pinecones and pumpkins. We then created a turkey craft and the children glued the turkey body, legs, beak and feathers onto their process art. Process art is great for kids as they have the opportunity to express themselves through their work.

Fine Motor Corn Letters

The kiddos placed corn kernels onto their first initial of their name. This activity requires fine motor skills as well as hand-eye-coordination.

Art Class

This week in art class with Ms. Stein the children created face texture collages using yarn, pom-poms, felt, various shapes, feathers, etc.

Library

This week Ms. Hilda came to our class! She read two books and the children got to pick out a book to checkout.

Scissor Skills

We are continuing to work on proper scissor form - elbow in, thumbs up, cutting away from your body. Every time the kids use scissors their hands get stronger and their form gets better!

Reading & Writing

Continuing to practice reading CVC words and writing letters using correct letter formation and pencil grip.

Free Choice:

This week the kiddos also played letter bingo, created drip art, played "Hanging Monkies" and created animals using various shapes!

Next week we will begin our 5 Senses unit!
