Name Building Activity
The children participated in "building their name" using letters and their classroom name tag for guidance. This activity helps children recognize the letters in their names.

Sticky Wall - Fine Motor & Sensory

Reading Buddies
This week there were lots of smiles and waves as our reading buddies entered the Pre-K room. Friendships are beginning to form and this is great to see!

PE
During PE this week the kiddos participated in Color Freeze Dance. Mr. Linkhart placed hula hoops around the gym and played music. When the music stopped Mr. Linkhart called out a color and the children were encouraged to run to that color hula hoop and freeze!

Scissor Skills
The kiddos are working hard on using scissors with the correct form and improving their fine motor skills.

Self-Portraits
This week we began our September self-portraits. We begin our self-portraits by choosing the paint color that closely resembles our own skin color. First we paint our body and later in the week will add the details such as hair, eyes and clothes. It is amazing to see the progression throughout the year.

Zoo Phonics
This week we introduced Catina Cat, DeeDee Deer and Ellie Elephant! Ask your kiddo if they can tell you what these zoo friends say.
Dot Names
Letter recognition, name recognition and fine motor skills.

Shaving Cream
The Pre-K kiddos enjoyed using shaving cream to practice pre-writing skills. They used their fingers to practice making various shapes and lines in the shaving cream. They had so much fun getting their hands messy and learning in a hands on way.

Recess

Art
This week the kiddos continued to experiment with color!

Journals
This week for journals we asked the kiddos to draw a picture of their family and then asked the kiddos to describe their family. The teachers dictated the children's stories and encouraged them to draw a picture to match their words. We also introduced a drawing challenged to the kids and asked them to turn a circle into something new.

Next Week:
On Monday we will begin our Chicka Chicka Boom Boom unit!
